In a landmark step towards digital transformation, the Supreme Court of Sri Lanka has officially joined the ‘GovPay’ digital payment platform, allowing the public to make online payments for a range of court-related services that were previously limited to cash transactions.

This move is part of the National People’s Power (NPP) government’s broader initiative to digitize public services across the country, aiming to improve accessibility, transparency, and efficiency.

A ceremonial event marking the launch was held today at the Supreme Court Complex under the patronage of Chief Justice Murdu Fernando. The event was attended by legal professionals and officials from the Information and Communication Technology Agency (ICTA) and LankaPay.

With this integration, users can now access www.govpay.lk to make payments related to Supreme Court services, including:

  • Case filing fees
  • Certified copy fees
  • Commercial High Court appeal filing fees
  • Compensation payments
  • Complaint filing fees
  • Affidavit-related charges

The GovPay platform currently supports digital payments for 16 major government institutions, and the inclusion of the Supreme Court represents a significant advancement in Sri Lanka’s e-governance agenda.
