Drunk ‘Sisu Seriya’ School Bus Driver Caught with Children On Board in Katupotha

A school bus driver was arrested by the Katupotha Police for driving under the influence of alcohol while transporting schoolchildren.

The incident took place yesterday (19) around midday, when officers from the Katupotha Police Traffic Division stopped and inspected a Sisuseriya school bus operating in the town. During the inspection, it was revealed that the driver was intoxicated.

The suspect, a 52-year-old resident of Radhaliyagoda, Katupotha, was taken into custody. At the time of his arrest, the bus was carrying 16 schoolchildren and two mothers.

The bus has also been taken into police custody. The suspect is scheduled to be produced before the Narammala Magistrate’s Court today (20).
