Eight Arrested in ‘Club Wasantha’ Murder Case Granted Bail

Eight suspects arrested and remanded in connection with the murder of businessman Surendra Wasantha Perera, also known as ‘Club Wasantha’, were granted bail by the Homagama High Court today (10).

The suspects were released on two surety bails of Rs. 100,000 each and under strict conditions. The court imposed overseas travel bans on all eight individuals, who were also required to hand over their passports and report to the Athurugiriya Police Station every Sunday.

A total of 18 individuals, including a woman and a former Western Provincial Councillor, were arrested in relation to the shooting incident.
