The Global celebration of beauty and intelligence, the Miss World 2025 grand finale, took place in India at the beautiful venue of the HITEX Exhibition Centre in Hyderabad, Telangana. The event brought together contestants from over 100 countries, each of them competing for the Miss World crown. Amid all the performances, cultural celebrations, and an inspiring “Beauty with a Purpose” segment, it was Thailand’s Opal Suchata Chuangsri who won the hearts of millions. At just 21 years old, Opal made history by becoming the first woman from Thailand to win the Miss World title.
Early Life and Background: She was born on September 20, 2003, in Phuket, Thailand. She comes from a family that was in the hospitality industry. Her upbringing in this kind of environment made her aware of her culture and helped her with her communication skills at a very young age.
Education: She did her education from Kajonkietsuksa School and Triam Udom Suksa School, where she was known for her academic intelligence in Thailand. Currently, she is studying Political Science with a focus on International Relations at Thammasat University.
Multilingual Abilities: Opal has a very fluent accent in Thai, English, and Chinese.
Pageantry Beginnings: She entered the Miss Universe Thailand 2022 competition at 18, initially finishing as third runner-up. But after the resignation of the original first runner-up, she was announced as the second runner-up.
Miss Universe Thailand 2024: Representing Bangkok, Opal won the Miss Universe Thailand 2024 title, along with special awards like Miss Charming Talent and Miss Beauty and Confidence.
Miss Universe 2024 Performance: She represented Thailand at Miss Universe 2024 in Mexico City, securing the third runner-up position and receiving the Voice for Change Silver award for her advocacy work
Advocacy – ‘Opal For Her’: At 16, after going through a surgery to remove a benign breast lump, Opal launched the “Opal For Her” campaign to promote breast health awareness and early detection of breast cancer, which also became the topic of her beauty with purpose.
Miss World 2025 Victory: On May 31, 2025, Opal was crowned Miss World 2025 in Hyderabad, India, marking Thailand’s first win in the pageant’s history.
Unique Talents and Interests: Beyond pageantry, Opal has a unique talent for playing the ukulele backwards and is an animal lover, caring for 16 cats and five dogs.
Future Aspirations: With interests in psychology and anthropology, Opal aspires to become an ambassador for Thailand, aiming to represent her country on international platforms.
