The Embassy of Sri Lanka in Israel has decided to assist in securing re-entry visas for Sri Lankans who wish to return to the country amid the ongoing suspension of international flights.

In a communiqué, Ambassador Nimal Bandara said he had formally submitted a request to Israel’s Population and Immigration Authority (PIBA) to extend the validity of re-entry visas by two months from the start of the Iran-Israel conflict.

He added that the extension may apply not only to Sri Lankan nationals but to other country nationals as well, although processing might take some time.

For Sri Lankans currently outside Israel whose re-entry visas are due to expire, arrangements are being considered for their entry via Cairo Airport in Egypt, with subsequent transfer to Eilat by chartered bus.

The Ambassador further explained that the Embassy can facilitate the process of obtaining short-term Egyptian visas and group transportation if needed.

Individuals are encouraged to submit their names, passport numbers, and contact details to the Embassy. All expenses related to visa processing, flight re-bookings, and ground transportation will be borne by the individuals, while the Embassy will provide coordination and support.
