Dr. Anil Jasinghe, the newly appointed Secretary of the Ministry of Health and Mass Media, assumed duties today (11 December) at the Ministry of Health.

The event was attended by the subject minister, Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa.

Speaking at the occasion, Dr. Jasinghe expressed his delight at returning to the ministry after five years. He emphasised that the biggest challenge facing both the Health and Mass Media sectors is rebuilding the public’s trust.

“This will undoubtedly be a significant challenge for all of us. I look forward to working closely with the staff and officials to successfully overcome it,” Dr. Jasinghe said.
