Former Health Ministry Secretary Janaka Sri Chandragupta was arrested today (26) by officials of the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC).

He was taken into custody after appearing before the Commission this morning to provide a statement regarding ongoing investigations.

Chandragupta has been named a suspect in the case involving the distribution of substandard immunoglobulin vials to government hospitals—an incident that allegedly resulted in a massive financial fraud amounting to several hundred million rupees and endangered the lives of patients.
