Mangala Samaraweera’s Former PR Manager Injured in Kandana Shooting

A person was killed and another, identified as Sameera Manahara, the former PR Manager of the late Minister Mangala Samaraweera, was injured in a shooting that took place near the Kadana public market this morning (3), according to police.

The shooting was carried out by two unidentified individuals who arrived on a motorcycle and opened fire targeting two men inside a car.

Both victims were admitted to the Ragama Hospital with injuries, where one of them succumbed to his wounds. The deceased has been identified as a 50-year-old resident of the Kadana area.

The motive behind the shooting is yet to be uncovered, and further investigations are underway by the Kadana Police.
