The Siyam Daham Padayatra, a spiritual foot pilgrimage that began at the sacred Kirivehera in Kataragama, concluded after twenty days upon reaching Colombo and culminated with a special ceremony at the Sri Dalada Maligawa in Kandy.
The final religious observance was held under the patronage of the Anunayaka Thero of the Asgiriya Chapter, Venerable Wedaruwe Upali Thero, along with the Diyawadana Nilame of the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, Nilanga Dela, and the Ambassador of Thailand.
Following the main ceremony, the Mahanayake Theros were blessed by the Supreme Priest of the Malwathu Chapter, Most Venerable Thibbatuwawe Sri Siddhartha Sumangala Maha Nayaka Thero.
The event was attended by Thai monks who took part in the pilgrimage, as well as Tharanga Wickramadara, Head of the Religious Division of Swarnavahini Media Network, and Professor Walmooruwe Piyarathana Thero of Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University in Thailand.
