Rat Fever Confirmed in Seven Fever-Related Deaths in North

Samples from seven bodies linked to fever-related deaths in the Northern Province have tested positive for rat fever, also known as leptospirosis, according to the Epidemiology Unit of the Health Ministry.

The Epidemiology Unit stated yesterday (11 December) that a fever of unknown origin is spreading in Jaffna, and investigations are underway to determine whether the deaths are linked to rat fever.
