Youth Died by Suicide after Killing Girlfriend, Injuring Her Parents

A 23-year-old woman from Marangala in Padiyathalawa, Ampara, has died following a violent incident that also left her parents injured. He had died by suicide at the scene after killing the woman, according to the Police.

According to police, the man had visited the woman’s residence, where an altercation reportedly occurred. The woman’s parents, who sustained injuries during the incident, are currently receiving treatment at the Mahaoya Base Hospital.

Initial investigations suggest that the incident was linked to a personal dispute. Authorities have confirmed that a magisterial inquiry will be held, and the bodies remain under police protection.

Padiyathalawa Police are continuing investigations.
