Not So Happy Ending: Police Constable Arrested for Assaulting Spa Therapist

A police constable has been arrested in connection with the assault and robbery of a therapist at a massage centre in Thalpitiya, Wadduwa, police said.

According to Wadduwa Police, the constable had visited the massage centre and, after reportedly making an inappropriate request which was denied, physically assaulted the therapist. He then allegedly stole money from the premises and forcibly took the therapist with him.

The suspect, a constable attached to the motorcycle unit of the Panadura Division’s Criminal Investigation Branch and currently on duty at the Horana Headquarters Police, is said to have assaulted the therapist again within the Wadduwa town area.

At the time of arrest, police recovered Rs. 27,000 in cash from the suspect.
