President’s Schedule for Indian State Visit Announced

President Anura Kumara Dissanayake will undertake his first bilateral State Visit to India from 15-17 December 2024. This marks his inaugural visit to India following Sri Lanka’s recently concluded presidential and parliamentary elections.

During the visit, President Dissanayake will meet with Indian President Droupadi Murmu and hold discussions with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on key bilateral issues of mutual interest. The discussions are expected to focus on enhancing cooperation in trade, security, and regional development.

The President is also scheduled to participate in a business event in Delhi aimed at promoting investment and strengthening commercial ties between the two countries. Additionally, he will visit Bodh Gaya, a significant site of Buddhist heritage, as part of his itinerary.
