Former Minister Rajitha Senaratne has filed a motion before the Colombo Magistrate’s Court, seeking an order to temporarily suspend the warrant issued for his arrest in connection with an investigation by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC).
The motion was taken up today (18) before Colombo Chief Magistrate Thanuja Lakmali Jayathunga.
When the matter was called in open court, the Magistrate observed that such a request could only be considered in the presence of representatives from the Bribery Commission.
Accordingly, the court did not issue an order regarding Senaratne’s request at this stage.
