A large-scale crystal methamphetamine (ICE) manufacturing facility funded by Kehelbaddara Padme has been uncovered in Nuwara Eliya, Public Security Minister Ananda Wijepala revealed.

He made this remark during a programme at Sri Lanka Rupavahini.

According to the Minister, underworld figure Mandinu Padmasiri, widely known as ‘Kehelbaddara Padme,’ had invested more than Rs. 4 million to set up the illegal operation.

Investigators have discovered that a house in Nuwara Eliya had been rented to run the factory and that over 2,000 kilogrammes of chemicals had been imported to produce the drug locally.
