It has been revealed that a tip-off from within the police may have alerted underworld figure ‘Kehelbaddara Padme’ about the arrival of Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Rohan Olugala in Indonesia to arrest him and other wanted suspects, including ‘Commando Salintha.’

The revelation surfaced during ongoing investigations into a major joint operation carried out by Sri Lankan and Indonesian security forces to apprehend the suspects.

According to reports, the Red Notice issued through Interpol for the arrest of Kehelbaddara Padme had also been leaked to him through local police channels.

Authorities say that the operation in Indonesia involved significant effort and dedication from the Sri Lankan team, who worked tirelessly for several days on the ground. However, investigators have now found that ‘Darun,’ another underworld figure, had been informed that ASP Olugala was missing for several days, and even traced the IP number linked to Olugala’s phone. Darun later learned that the ASP had travelled to Indonesia.

Following this revelation, Kehelbaddara Padme, Commando Salintha, and ‘Kudu Nilanga’ reportedly fled the hotel where they had been staying prior to the raid.

Police have further disclosed that a photograph from the Interpol Red Notice issued for Padme’s arrest was found stored on his mobile phone.
