Air Astana launches direct flights connecting Kazakhstan and Sri Lanka

Air Astana officially launched operations to Sri Lanka for the 2024/2025 winter season with its maiden flight arriving at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) on Monday.

The first flight was welcomed with a celebratory water cannon salute organized by Airports and Aviation Services (Sri Lanka) Limited (AASL).

Passengers and crew were welcomed with a traditional upland dance performance coordinated by the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau.

Air Astana, Kazakhstan’s flagship airline, will operate four weekly flights between Kazakhstan and Colombo.
