Tri-Forces Protection of Former Presidents to Be Removed

Minister of Public Security Ananda Wijepala announced in Parliament today (17) that tri-forces protection provided to former presidents will be removed starting next week.

However, police security designated for former presidents will remain unchanged, the minister confirmed.

“All members of the Tri-Forces assigned to the security of former presidents will be removed starting next week,” he said in a special statement regarding the perks granted to former presidents.
