Justice Minister Harshana Nanayakara today (17 December) called for the suspension of the Parliament website until erroneous data related to the MPs is corrected.

Addressing Parliament, the Minister highlighted that not only his own details but those of numerous other MPs had been inaccurately uploaded to the website.

He emphasized the importance of ensuring accurate information on the Parliament website, noting that such records could be referenced for up to ten years. Nanayakara stressed that the website must be properly maintained to avoid any embarrassment to MPs.

“I request the office of the Secretary General to suspend the Parliament website, rectify the errors, and reopen it only after ensuring that the errors are 100 percent corrected,” he said.
