‘Ishara Sewwandi’, the fugitive woman wanted in connection with the murder of underworld figure Sanjeewa Kumara Samararatne, alias ‘Ganemulla Sanjeewa’, has been arrested in Nepal.
Her arrest came during a joint operation carried out by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) and Nepal Police, which also led to the detention of four other individuals.
The shooting occurred on 19 February inside Hulftsdorp Magistrate’s Court No. 05, where Ganemulla Sanjeewa was gunned down.
The 25-year-old suspect, identified as Pingpura Dewage Ishara Sewwandi, is believed to have assisted the gunman involved in the killing.
She had been on the run since the day of the incident, with investigators struggling to trace her whereabouts until her recent capture.
