A police constable, his mother-in-law, and another person have been arrested on suspicion of harbouring Ishara Sewwandi, a prime suspect in the murder of underworld figure Ganemulla Sanjeewa.

It is reported that the other person who was arrested is an associate of the organised criminal known as Matugama Shan.

According to police sources, Sewwandi has reportedly told investigators during questioning that following Sanjeewa’s murder, she hid in Matugama and Middeniya before fleeing the country by boat to India.
