Weligama Pradeshiya Sabha Chairman Lasantha Wickramasekara alias ‘Midigama Lasa’ has died after being hospitalised following a shooting incident inside the council chamber this morning (22).

According to reports, two unidentified gunmen arrived on a motorcycle and opened fire while Wickramasekara was seated inside the Pradeshiya Sabha chamber. He sustained critical injuries and was rushed to hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
