The Court of Appeal dismissed without a hearing a petition filed by Parliamentarian Dilith Jayaweera seeking an order to quash a finding against him by the Fort Magistrate concerning contempt of court.
The petition was considered by a bench comprising Court of Appeal President Justice Rohantha Abeysuriya and Justices Chamath Morais and Adithya Patabendige.
The bench ruled that the petition lacked sufficient legal grounds to proceed to a hearing.
