The Kekirawa Magistrate’s Court ordered a man arrested over an alleged break-in at a house in Galnewa to be remanded until 20 November.

Galnewa Police said the man, identified as Madhuranga Rathnayake, also known as ‘Bunty’, was arrested after allegedly entering the house without permission and behaving indecently on the night of 6 November. Police said he was about 35 years old and lived in the Galnewa area.

Police said CCTV footage showed the suspect entering through a bathroom window, rummaging through clothes and leaving through the front door.

Police also identified Rathnayake as the main suspect in a separate case involving the alleged rape of a doctor at Anuradhapura Hospital.

Galnewa Police are investigating the alleged break-in.
