The Central Bank of Sri Lanka has launched a special investigation into the business activities of Ceylon Green Life Plantations (Pvt) Ltd following several complaints received against the company.

The investigation is being conducted under Section 42 of the Finance Business Act No. 42 of 2011 to determine whether the company has violated the law by illegally accepting deposits or carrying on finance business.

Meanwhile, in connection with a case pending before the Colombo High Court (HC/FS/12/2026), the court has ordered the freezing of all assets belonging to the company and its director, including their bank accounts, until 18 February 2027.

However, depositors who invested funds with the company alleged that they had not received the monthly payments promised to them.

A large number of depositors are reportedly facing severe financial hardship and uncertainty due to the situation.
