The Q Branchof police's criminal investigative division filed a case against 25 people, including 12Sri Lankan nationals, allegedly members of the terror outfit, and 13 Indians. Chennai Police said while the Lankans smuggled communication devices and medicines from India to Sri Lanka for the LTTE,the Indians colluded with them. However, charges were pressed against only 13 people as 11 were absconding and one died during the proceedings.

A Chennai city court acquitted all 13 people accused of involvement with the banned LTTE, Times of India reported. The case relates to the arrest of some Sri Lankan Tamils in Chennai and the seizure of communication devices, including satellite phones, in April 2009, during the last phase of Eelam war in Sri Lanka.
