Former SriLankan Airlines CEO Kapila Chandrasena And Wife Granted Bail Over Airbus Investigation

Former Sri Lankan Airlines CEO Kapila Chandrasena and his wife, who were arrested over the AirBus deal, have been granted bail.

They were released today on Rs. 2 million cash bail and Rs. 2 billion surety bail.

SriLankan Airlines former CEO Kapila Chandrasena and his wife were arrested after they surrendered to the CID over the Airbus deal investigation.

The Attorney General instructed the CID to obtain an arrest warrant to arrest the two with regard to the investigation. President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa has ordered a full-scale investigation into the matter.

The investigation was launched after it was revealed that the company had allegedly paid out a sum of 2 Million US dollars to the wife of the former SriLankan Airlines CEO to secure a deal.
