AG Requests Supreme Court To Dismiss Petitions Challenging Election Date Without Taking Them Up For Hearing

The Attorney General has requested the Supreme Court to dismiss the petitions challenging elections date without taking them up for hearing.

The AG has made the request during the hearing of Fundamental Rights petitions challenging the election date.

The Elections Commission has already informed the Supreme Court that the Parliamentary election cannot be held on June 20, as previously planned.

The Commission has already made it clear that they need clearance from the health authorities to decide on an alternate date.
