Ten senior polling officers who were assigned for election duties have been removed as they were found to have engaged in the election campaign of a certain political party, Nuwara Eliya District Returning Officer Rohana Pushpakumara said.

He said that following complaints against these officers (government teachers by professions) had attended election meetings of a certain political party, steps were taken to remove them with immediate effect. Further investigations are underway, he added
