Nipuna Ranawaka, the nephew of President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa and Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa, topped the preferential votes in Matara with 131,010 votes.

Karuna Kodithuwakku, a first time MP-elect came second on the list with 114,319 votes.

Dullas Alahapperuma: 103,354 Kanchana Wijesekera: 96,033 Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena: 80,595 Weerasumana Weerasinghe: 77,967

Two former MPs, Niroshan Premaratne and Lakshman Yapa Abeywardena have failed to secure their parliametary seats.
