Parliamentarian Premalal Jayasekera has been transferred to the Prison Hospital of the Welikada Prison.

Jayasekera, who has been convicted over a murder in Kahawatte in 2015, is currently serving a death sentence.

The oppositon has raised concerns over Jayasekera's ability in function as an MP in Parliament while ona death sentence.

Former MP Duminda Silva, former Tangalle PS Chairman Sampath Vidanapathirana and Retired Army Officer Ajith Prasanna are also inthe prison hospital.
