President Says No One In The Government Influenced Judiciary On Premalal Jayasekera's Matter

President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa said no one influenced the judiciary on MP Premalal Jayasekera's matter.

Addressing a meeting with state ministers, the President said all decisions with regard to Jayasekera's swearing in wrere made by the judiciary.

"These judges were appointed by the Constitutional Council chaired by former Speaker Karu Jayasuriya," he added.

"Sajith Premadasa and Thalatha Athukorale were also members of the same council," the President said.

Therefore, he said, there is no point in blaming the govenrment for Premalal Jayasekera's matter.
