Bathiudeen files Writ Application seeking to prevent arrest

Former Minister Rishad Bathiudeen has filed a Writ application in the Court of Appeal seeking to prevent his imminent arrest.

The CID got the clearance from the Attorney General’s Department to attest the MP over abuse of state properties and alleged violation of election laws.

Bathiudeen was under investigation for transporting internally displaced Muslims from Puttalam to Mannar to vote at the last Presidential election.

The CID has deployed six teams to arrest the MP. However, they are yet to locate the whereabouts of the Parliamentarian.
