CNN has officially projected that Joe Biden is the 46th President of the United States of America.

Pennsylvania’s 20 electoral votes vaulted Joe Biden past the 270-vote threshold needed to take the White House. Boden leads in Georgia, Arizona and Nevada. President Donald Trump has vowed to file legal challenges.

Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa is the first Sri Lankan political leaders to congratulate Biden upon his election.

“My warmest congratulations to @JoeBiden on your historic victory on being elected #POTUS46 & my best wishes as you prepare to serve in the highest office. I wish you & Vice President-elect @KamalaHarris, the very best in your efforts to transform America,” Premadasa tweeted almost simultaneously with CNN’s projection.
