November 09, 2020

Dr. Sudath Samaraweera, Head of the Epidemiology Unit said that most of the COVID19 patients identified in Sri Lanka do not show any symptoms and they are unknowingly transmitting the disease to another person.

Dr. Sudath Samaraweera further stated that curfew is in effect in many areas of the Colombo Municipal Council area and action should be taken to control the disease by restricting movement.

Even if the curfew is lifted, patients will be reported. Dr. Samaraweera added.

"Elderly and people with chronic illnesses should stay at home and it is advisable to leave only one person in the house to do their chores," he said.
