UPDATE: Anuruddha Padeniya First-level Contact Of COVID19 Patient Still Missing: PHIs Unable To Contact GMOA President

Public Health Inspectors (PHIs) have so far been unable to contact GMOA President Dr. Anuruddha Padeniya who has been identified as a first level contact of a COVID19 patient.

The MOH has directed PHIs in Kelaniya to place him under quarantine after one of the doctors who had attended a party hosted by Dr. Padeniya at his residence in Kelaniya contracted Covid-19.

The party was held on the 8th and the doctor who has contracted COVID19 is a resident of Uggalgoda, Minuwangoda.

Minuwangoda Regional Medical Officer of Health Dr. Anuja Fernando has instructed to quarantine all those who participated in the party with the infected doctor.

When three Public Health Inspectors (PHIs) in charge of the area visited the house of Dr. Anuruddha Padeniya at around 7.45 last night (13th) and tried to quarantine him, but it had failed.

The reason was that the doctor did not open the gate and turned off the electricity in the house. The Public Health Inspectors had apparently informed this situation to the Kelaniya Regional Medical Officer of Health. She has instructed the PHIs carry out the quarantine activities today.
