Only nine of 943 tested in parliament have tested positive for COVID19.

All staff members in Parliament and a number of MPs were subjected to PCR tests after three MPs tested positive for the virus.

However, none of the newly identified patients are parliamentarian.

Among them are five parliamentary staffers and four from the security division. Authorities are currently tracing their contacts.

Parliamentarians Daysiri Jayasekera, Vasudewa Nayakkara and Rauff Hakeem who have tested positive for the virus are currently under medical observation.
