Police Question Cricketer Sacithra Senanayake For Eight Hours Over Match-Fixing Allegations During Local T20 League

Former Sri Lankan cricketer Sachithra Senanayake has been questioned by the police for 8 hours over match-fixing allegations.

Senanayake, who is no longer an international player, has come under investigation for attempting to approach two Sri Lankan cricketers for match-fixing during a local T20 tournament.

It has now been revealed that Senanayake allegedly contacted the two players over the telephone while in Dubai.

An anticipatory bail application filed by Senanayake to avert police action in this regard was refused by the court two days ago.

The cricketer represented Sri Lanka in 49 One Day Internationals, 24 T20 Internationals, and one Test match. He has taken 53 wickets in ODIs 25 wickets in international T20 matches.

He last played for Sri Lanka in a T20 match against Australia in September 2016.
