“Public Has Lost Faith In Government: But It’s Wrong To Blame That Frustration On President:” Vidura Wickremanayake

State Minister Vidura Wickremanayake said the public had lost trust in the government.

He also added that the decisions made by President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa were not being implemented on the ground due to bureaucracy.

"People are under economic pressure. People don't see any tangible benefits. We understand that a gap is being created in the countr," the State Minister told Asian Mirror.

"The people hoped for an independent inquiry into the Easter Sunday attack. They also expected that the culprits behind the bond scam would be punished. When the government does not deliver on these expectations, mistrust builds up in the people. But it is wrong to blame that frustration on the President," he added.
