Nushad Perera Resigns As Chairman Of SLSI Amidst Controversy

Nushad Perera has resigned as the Chairman of the Sri Lanka Standards Institute (SLSI)

His letter of resignation was handed over to the Secretary to the Ministry of Technology on April 19 and he has officially resigned from the post after the last Board of Directors meeting on April 30.

Nushad Perera's name was mired in two major controversies after the alleged Sugar Tax Scam and the importation of coconut oil containing cancerous elements.

He previously functioned as the Chairman of Sathosa.
