Consumer Affairs Authority Launches Probe Into "Food Supplement" Developed By Karapitiya Doctor To Boost Immunity

The Consumer Affairs Authority (CAA) says that an investigation has been launched into a food supplement currently being marketed by a doctor at the Karapitiya Teaching Hospital in Galle to boost immunity for COVID19.

Some packaging bottles containing the food supplement were available for sale at a shop in Galle, and samples have been obtained from the Galle District Consumer Affairs Authority for investigation.

The Consumer Affairs Authority says that investigations are underway to ascertain the accuracy of the information contained in the package regarding this food supplement.

According to the Galle District Consumer Affairs Authority, the package states that one pill should be taken twice a day for four days as a supplement for cold, cough, fever and headache.
