Ranjan Given More Relief: More Facilities Granted: Permission Given To Use Madiwela MP Residence For 06 More Months

Ranjan Ramanayake, who is being held at the Angunakolapelessa Prison in Tangalle, has been given a separate television set for the use of the former Member of Parliament.

State Minister Lohan Ratwatte said Ramanayake was given a television set after considering a request made by him in this regard.

In addition, a separate fan, a mattress, and toilet facilities have been provided for Ranjan Ramanayake's use, he said, adding that the Madiwela MP's official residence, which he had used during his tenure, had also been given for another six months.

He said that Ramanayake had recently requested through his secretary that the house be given to him for some time to keep his belongings. The State Minister said he discussed the matter with the Speaker and taken action to fulfill that request.

Ramanayake's please for a special presidential pardon is currently being considered by President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa.
