New Health Guidelines Applicable To Entire Country To Be Announced On Monday As PHI Union Warns Of "Delta" Spread

A new set of health guidelines applicable to the entire island is to be issued by the Director General of Health Services on Monday the 5th.

Western Province Health Services Director Dr. Dhammika Jayalath said that this new set of health guidelines will be issued after reviewing the COVID19 outbreak situation in the country.

A special technical committee of the Ministry of Health will review the spread of COVID19 in the country in the coming days.

The Director General of Health Services has introduced separate health reguations for the Western Province and the rest of the country when the travel restrictions were relaxed last week.

Meanwhile, the PHI union has asserted that there could be devastating results if the authorities fail to take action to control the spread of the Delta variant.
