Journalist Chamuditha Samarawickrema has been asked summoned before the Colombo Crimes Division (CCD) to record a statatement.

Samarawickrema is the host of the "Hiru Salakuna" talk show and the morning newspaper programme on Hiru TV.

Samarawickrema will be questioned on several remarks he made on the quarantine process and the vaccination programme.

The journalist said he was notified by the Piiyandala police to give a statement to the CID.

He was prevously questioned by the police for posing death threats to actress Piumi Hansamali.
