Lohan Ratwatte Seeks Another Date To Give A Statement To The Human Rights Commission On Prison Incidents

The Human Rights Commission of Sri Lanka (HRCSL) says it will release its report on the Welikada and Anuradhapura prisons incidents soon.

The Human Rights Commission of Sri Lanka (HRCSL) has launched an investigation into the incident at the Welikada and Anuradhapura prisons where former Minister of State Lohan Ratwatte was involved.

Accordingly, they had obtained statements from a number of prison officials, including the Commissioner General of Prisons, in the past few days.

Lohan Ratwatte was also summoned to appear before the Human Rights Commission on Thursday to make a statement, but he had requested for another date on personal grounds.

Accordingly, it is reported that he is scheduled to make the relevant statement to the Human Rights Commission this week.
