Rishad Bathiudeen Who Was Kept In Remand For 06 Months Over Easter Sunday Attacks Released On Bail

Former Minister Rishad Bathiudeen, who was remanded on suspicion of involvement in the Easter Sunday bombing and remanded for more than six months, was released on two sureties of Rs. 5 million before Colombo Fort Magistrate Priyantha Liyanage today (14).

This was stated by the Magistrate when the magisterial inquiry into the incident was called back to court today (14).

Former CID Minister Rishad Bathiudeen was arrested on April 21 by the CID for questioning over the aster Sunday attacks.

The former Minister was under investigation for aiding and abetting the terrorists who carried out the Easter Sunday attacks.

Bathiudeen, however, stated that the investigation against him was a "political witch-hunt".
