CID Begins Investigation Into Former Minister Rajitha Senaratne Over Importation Of 8 Vessels And Lease Of Fisheries Harbour

The Criminal Investigations Department (CID) informed the Colombo Chief Magistrate's Court that it has begun an investigation into that MP Rajit regarding the importation of 08 vessels for deep sea fishing under the name of his coordinating secretary and the leasing of the Modara.

Minister of State Sanath Nishantha Perera had lodged a complaint with the CID alleging that the eight ships had been brought into the country under an agreement with a Chinese company under the name of Don Lalith Anuradha Seneviratne, who was the Coordinating Secretary to former Fisheries Minister Rajitha Senaratne.

The case was reported to the court by OIC of the Public Complaints Division of the CID, Inspector Sanjaya Thusitha.
