The Court of Appeal today (29) dismissed a petition filed by former Minister Patali Champika Ranawaka seeking an order suspending the hearing of a case filed against him in the Colombo High Court for concealing evidence in a road accident in the Rajagiriya area.

The order was issued when the appeal was called before a bench of Justices of the Court of Appeal comprising Menaka Wijesundera and Neil Iddawela today (29).

Ranawaka's lawyers said the case was an act of politial witch hunt against the former Minister who now represents the opposition.
