Govt. risk losing majority as ten more MPs to cross over to opposition

September 07, 2022

Political insiders say the government is at risk of losing its majority with at least ten MPs slated to cross over to the opposition soon. According to sources, a group operating independently in parliament is set to sit in the opposition.

A powerful politician of the SJB said therefore it is likely the government will lose its majority imminently. Currently, there are 119 MPs and ministers in the ruling party along with the speaker while there are 106 MPs representing the opposition parties in parliament.

A cross-over would leave the government with a mere 110 MPs in the least making it lose its majority in parliament.
