Colombo Mayoress Rosy Senanayake has accused Thorz, a music festival organizer of venerating ‘Stan’ through music at the Hellfire Music Festival. The festival is to take place on September 30 from 5 p.m. onwards at the newly opened Lotus Tower.

A video of a phone conversation between Senanayake and Thorz has now gone viral on social media where the Mayoress can be heard accusing the organiser of promoting satanism.

“I will not allow you to venerate Satanic music for Stan in my city. Can’t you think of a better theme? A better name?” she is heard asking while Thorz insists the festival is not for Satan.

“What does it depict? I will get all the Buddhist clergy and everyone against this concert. A lot of people are writing to me asking me to stop this concert. I have the power to endorse your tickets or not endorse your tickets. Don’t you have any other theme other than venerating satan and calling it a Hellfire Concert? Who wants to go to hell? Who is the parent who is going to send their child to a Hellfire Concert?” she goes on.

When asked why this was not inquired before after he submitted the documents for the festival many weeks ago, the Mayoress says she was calling him as a mother who believes these are not things the youth should be venerating or getting excited about.

“This is not the type of theme we need at this time. We should be venerating God if at all to save this country.” she adds before the call abruptly ends.

The organiser has since uploaded a video explaining the situation. That video can be accessed here
